Colorado River District

The Colorado River District is one of twelve districts that make up the Capitol Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America. The district is named for the beautiful Colorado River which runs through the middle of the district cutting it almost in half. The Boy Scout program works toward three aims:

  • To Build Character – Developing the Scout’s personal qualities, values, and outlook: honesty, courage, integrity, self-reliance, self-discipline, self-confidence, and self-respect.
  • To Foster Citizenship – Training the Scout on his duties, obligations, privileges, and functions as a citizen and member of his community.
  • To Develop Fitness – Helping the Scout to develop physically, mentally, morally, and emotionally.

The Colorado River District Committee meets on the second Thursday of every month at the Lost Pines Scout Ranch – Lindsey Lodge at 6:00 pm. The Boy Scout and Cub Scout Roundtables meet on second Thursday of every month just after the Committee meeting at 7:00 pm. The Roundtables are an excellent way to meet other leaders and to keep up on what’s going on around the District.
