Sea Scout Adult Leader Basic Training

Our council's Sea Scout Committee is offering Sea Scout Adult Leader Basic Training (SSALBT) at Lindsay Lodge, Lost Pines Scout Reservation on April 27, 2013. This is a great opportunity to find out what Sea Scouting is all about, whether you are interested in starting or joining a ship, or just curious about Sea Scouting. There is no charge for the training, and there are no prerequisites for the class. No uniforms required, but you'll need to bring a lunch. Class starts at 0900 (9am) and will end by 1500 (3pm).

Sea Scouting is a youth program that combines fun with the the adventure of boating and the intrigue of maritime tradition. Sea Scouting is a co-ed program offered by the Boy Scouts of America to young adults 14 years old (or 13 years and completed the eighth grade) through age 21. Sea Scouts love boats and the water, learn sailor's skills, work together as a team, set and achieve personal goals - and they have fun doing it. Our council now has 10 Sea Scout units ("ships"), and several more are in the process of starting.

If you'd like to attend the training, or if you have questions, please send an email to Peter Sargent, Vice Commodore for Training at peter.sargent@mac.com.
